Just bought a one year subscription! The topics in your first issue look fantastic – hoping I get a first issue as I will no doubt save every copy for reference.

I have been waiting for my subscription. I e-mailed Complete Survivalist 2 times to assure myself that I am on their subscription list and have not recieved an answer.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi Mona… Sorry for the lack of response, but I hadn’t received an email from you at our support email address. (support@completesurvivalist.com)
After reading this comment, I tried sending you an email from two different email providers and both times my email got bounced back to me.

If anyone else has sent me an email and not received a response, you may want to “white-list” Complete Survivalist in your spam filter. Also, using the contact form on this site is a sure way to make sure your message gets through. I don’t want anyone to think they’re being ignored. Maintaining communication with our subscribers is important to me.

To address your question; due to the pre-Christmas rush at the postal service, some subscribers are experiencing delays receiving their magazine,
but rest assured, it’s on its way. All the magazines went out to subscribers on the 13th, and many received their first issue last week. If you haven’t received yours yet, it should be there within the next day or two.

I apologize for the delay, and appreciate your patience.

Just got issue 1 today and have only two complaints … 1) It needs to be Weekly, not BiMonthly and 2) It needs to be a few hundred pages thicker !! :)

Ok, all joking aside, I am hooked… Excellent magazine – I am looking forward to the coming issues…

I assume I do not need to do anything now? From what I have read in previous emails, you will just bill my paypal account automatically? – When does that happen? – Just want to ensure I am on your mailing list so do not miss any future issues… Many thanks and looking forward to the next issue!

I loved the first issue of your magazine. I was able to share the issue with my husband, who hasn’t really been onboard as far as prepping goes. He’s ok about my putting together food storage and emergency supplies, but doesn’t think it’s necessary. I’ve tried to get him to read books, but he hasn’t been willing to commit to that amount of time. I placed your magazine on our coffee table and I’ve seen him pick it up a few times and read articles. Thanks again for such a great first issue, when is the second due out?

Glad you like the mag, Michelle! It can be difficult getting a spouse on the same page when it comes to prepping. I think the best approach for someone who doesn’t really see the need to prepare is to relate it to insurance (which is exactly what it is). We buy insurance for our cars and homes, even though there’s a good chance we may not need it.
Or, to put it more succinctly: Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

But I think you’re definitely gonna need it.

Don’t give up trying to wake him up! There’s a video on my radio blog that should help. It’s called “The American Dream”.

Oh, and the next issue is scheduled to ship on 2/25.

Will you be doing a reprint or an online version of your first issue for subscribers? It looks like a great issue!

I too would really like to see a reprint or online version of your magazine. Hopefully you can do it for us that came a bit late to the game. I recently saw issue #2 at my bookstore and bought it immediately.

Like others, my spouse rolls her eyes at me when I talk about any sort of prepping. I’m hoping reading some articles from your magazine can help change her mind a little bit. Thanks for such a great read!

I just found issue #3 of your magazine in Barnes & Noble in Ft. Lauderdale. I will subscribe and pick up issue #2 but I am extremely upset that the first issue is unavailable already. I would be very interested in reading nearly every article promoted in that issue. With the technology of today, how hard can it be to get reprints. Especially since you obviously under estimated the demand for your product. If cost is a factor why not try having interested parties pre order reprints and see if you can come up with the capital to make it worth while.

Hey Floyd… Glad you like the magazine!

To answer your question about reprints; it’s not really a matter of technology, it’s a matter of numbers. If we were to reprint issue #1, we would have to place a minimum order of 5000 copies with the printer, at a much higher cost per-magazine than the initial run. With set-up, binding and fulfillment charges, it doesn’t really become cost effective until you hit the 10,000 copy mark, and there’s nowhere near that kind of demand for the first issue. And this isn’t the kind of job that can be done at a Kinko’s on a one or two-off basis.

However, we are planning on making a digital version of back-issues available soon.
