With all of the media surrounding the 2nd Amendment in current events it is often hard to find any good news to share with others. Our 2nd Amendment is no stranger to misguided attacks on its sovereignty. We are all familiar with Feinstein and her like-minded minions pushing for stricter gun control. We are also familiar with President Obama’s continuous efforts to circumvent the letter of the law by any means he deems necessary in order to pass laws Americans are opposed to.
In response to government’s views regarding the 2nd Amendment rights of American citizens several major manufacturers of firearms have elected to discontinue, or refuse, the sale of their products to local, state and federal agencies that support the call for stricter gun control measures. Personally, I find this to be some of the best news yet regarding a response to the 2nd Amendment issues we are all facing under this Obamanation administration.
“A growing number of firearms makers, as well as companies and firms that manufacture gun parts are opting out of doing business with the police departments of “states, counties, cities, and municipalities that restrict their citizen’s rights” to own guns.
The companies – including such notable weapons makers like Barrett, Olympic Arms and American Spirit Arms, as well as major suppliers like Cheaper Than Dirt – are taking a stand against municipalities that are imposing anti-Second Amendment policies on their general populations while exempting police and law enforcement from the same restrictions. What’s more, the companies are making their positions public by signing up at a website called The Police Loophole.”
This is good news for all law abiding citizens, especially those that are being targeted as anti-government patriotic groups, such as survivalists and preppers. The 2nd Amendment was written clearly enough for anyone with an elementary level of education to understand. The fact that these firearms manufacturers are taking a stand against actions aimed at stripping us of our 2nd Amendment rights clearly sends the message that we are not alone, nor are we paranoid.
“There are some states, counties, cities, and municipalities in our great nation that fail to allow their citizens to fully exercise their right to keep and bear arms with restrictions such as magazine capacity or types of firearms. However, these government entities do not place these restrictions upon their own employees, such as police officers.”
When it comes to the 2nd Amendment; what’s good for the geese is good for the gander. I applaud those companies that take the steps to make it publicly known they do not support a regime bent on changing the rights of law abiding citizens. If more companies from the business industry would follow suit and refuse to sell products to those politicians that vote for illegal changes to the Constitution, perhaps we could begin to “right our country’s course,” so to speak.
As law abiding citizens we should support the efforts of these firearms manufacturers by purchasing solely from those that have added their company names to the public listing found at the Police Loophole website. Thankfully the weapons I currently own are from manufacturers on this list so I don’t have to sell off anything from a non-supportive firearms manufacturer. Support your manufacturers in the fight to save our 2nd Amendment rights.
